ImgSera works entirely on your computer. Your images, your history and your settings never leave your machine.
The short version
ImgSera works entirely on your computer. Your images, your history and your settings never leave your machine. There is no account, no telemetry and no hidden network activity in normal use.
What the app stores, and where
All persistent data lives under a single folder in your Windows user profile. It can be removed at any time by deleting that folder, and it is preserved if you uninstall the application.
| Data | Location | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Settings | %APPDATA%\ImgSera\settings.json | Your preferences — theme, default quality, output folder. |
| Presets | %APPDATA%\ImgSera\presets\ | Built-in and custom conversion presets you save. |
| History | %APPDATA%\ImgSera\history.sqlite | A local log of your batches. Clearable at any time from the History view. |
| Thumbnail cache | %APPDATA%\ImgSera\thumbcache\ | Faster grid browsing. Safe to clear from Settings. |
| AI models | %APPDATA%\ImgSera\models\ | Downloaded ONNX models, stored outside the application so updates never invalidate them. |
| Logs | %APPDATA%\ImgSera\logs\ | Diagnostic text logs. These contain no image data. |
Network access
The application makes network requests only when you explicitly ask it to:
- AI model downloads — when you choose Download in AI Models, or accept the one-time prompt in an AI tool. Models are fetched from their official repositories over HTTPS and verified before use.
- Nothing else. No update pings, no analytics, no crash reporting, no “phone home” of any kind.
Conversion, resizing, compression, PDF creation and batch processing are fully functional with the network cable unplugged.
This website
This site is a static website. It has no accounts, no comment system, no contact forms and no analytics or advertising trackers. Your colour-theme preference is stored in your own browser's local storage and is never transmitted anywhere.
Customer reviews
If you leave a review, we need a display name and an email address. Both are required. The display name is published next to your review. The email address is never published and is not visible to anyone browsing the site.
The email address is used for one purpose: to check whether the review came from someone on a paid plan. That check is carried out by a person against real order records, so typing an address never marks a review as verified on its own. A review is labelled Verified purchase only when a matching order actually exists; otherwise it is labelled Not verified.
Reviews are held for moderation before they appear publicly. They are moderated for spam and abuse only — a negative or critical review is published like any other. Your rating and review text are never edited to raise or lower a score. You can ask for a published review to be removed at any time, and it will be taken down.
Feedback form
The feedback form does not submit to this site. It opens your own email application with the message pre-filled, so what you send reaches us through your mail account rather than through a record stored here.
Metadata handling (EXIF / GPS)
Photos often embed location coordinates and device details. ImgSera defaults to the privacy-conscious option: GPS data is stripped on export, and full metadata stripping is one click away in every tool. What you publish is what you choose to publish.
File safety
Imported files are validated by content — not just by extension — before any decoding: structural verification, size ceilings and decompression-bomb protection. The application never executes anything embedded in an image, never writes outside your chosen output folders, and never deletes your original files. It exports copies; “overwrite originals” exists but is off by default.
Changes to this statement
Any future change that would add network functionality — for example opt-in crash reporting — will ship with a visible, explicit consent prompt, never silently.
This statement reproduces the privacy policy shipped with the ImgSera application. A governing jurisdiction, an effective date and a formal contact address for privacy requests still need to be supplied before the site goes live. They are deliberately omitted rather than guessed.
